Help for Spelling

I discovered a new website today that will help my students study their spelling lists. The site is Spelling City. You can type in a short list or something called a 'batch'. The site uses your words to give you practice tests and games to play that make learning your spelling words fun. This program even generated sentences to go with the spelling words. Even though drill and practice spelling isn't 'best practice' in learning to spell, it still happens and this site makes it fun.

What is sensible learning?

In my role as a learning specialist I feel sensible learning provides quality learning experiences for a wide spectrum of students. This kind of learning includes the lowest functioning students, the highest functioning students (gifted), and everyone in between. Through collaboration, accommodation, and differentiation, educators can meet the educational needs of most students. My goals for the Learning Sensibly blog is to provide, share and learn as many new ideas as possible to help all students learn. I look forward to constructive comments.
